“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2

What does it look like to “bear one another’s burdens” when someone you love is suffering? What is helpful? And more importantly, what is NOT helpful? Our team has been working through this over the past few weeks.

As we walk through suffering and grief together as an online community, our team will be equipping you with devotionals and resources to help you support someone who is grieving. We also recognize so many of you are walking your own journey of grief. Know that we love you and support you, and will be providing resources for you as well.

In our desire to help Nancy as a team, we’ve found a few books and articles that were particularly helpful:

When someone passes away, especially someone young, we all have questions. We see King David of the Old Testament ask God what in the world He’s up to within the Psalms:

  • “Why, O LORD, do you stand far off?”

  • “Wake up, O LORD. Why are you sleeping?”

  • “How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever?”

We can all appreciate King David’s honesty in sharing his feelings of deep grief and suffering with God. And, over time, he worked through those feelings and doubts with God.

We’re going to walk that road together. We’re going to ask the hard questions and work through the answers together. Stay tuned for more in the coming weeks.

Thank you for walking this journey with us. We’re so grateful for each of you.
